The Government and the Mob, Why They Are Alike
Gangsters by their very nature are sworn enemies of the law, they are always on the other side (opposing) of the law, and they do little to hide it, flaunting their many illegal activities.
Just like their gangster idols, Politicians are highly skilled in the art of deception. They are very good at presenting and projecting personae to the public quite different from their real selves, they are able to cover their tracks such that it is difficult, if not impossible to trace their illegal acts to them. They deserve to be classified as gangsters because although they are law and policy makers, that alone does not put them on the good side of the law. They are among the greatest lawbreakers, they are artful tax dodgers and evaders, and do not pay for the public services they enjoy; they steal and rob public coffers with their gold pens in addition to committing other nefarious activities.
Gangsters are the quintessential playboys, who play the verbal game of being devoted to their wives and family and still live sleazy lifestyles on the side. They set up women in rented apartments and pay them huge sums to be at their beck and call, such high class women (prostitutes) are usually trustees of information about hideous crimes their gangster lovers commit.
Politicians generally have a low level of morality, as people with power and money often do, thinking themselves above the law, the very law they were sworn to uphold. Since men generally think with their lower extremity regardless of their social status, just imagine the power to buy and control this aspect of your life.
Gangsters are known forgers and dodgers. The American government found it difficult to nail Al Capone because Al Capone constantly manipulated his books, records and his bookkeeper, the key witness sought desperately by the government. There is no difference between Al Capones tactics and antics of the Government with its missing and wrongly delegated money reaching the billions.
Perhaps the greatest resemblance between gangsters and Politicians is in the area of strong arming to get what they want. The Government is just a corporate power, and do not think for a minute if you jeopardize that power your life will not be forfeit. Political thugs are the backbone of any Government.
Gangsters love fashion and showmanship. They love to flaunt their wealth with the finest clothes, jewels, estates and by surrounding themselves with people who are affluent as well thereby making them seem part of an elite crowd.
The Government is also just an elitist club of the do wells. Lovers of high fashion, their fashion budget can offset the interest payments for many projects they lay buried under paperwork.
