In
a blatant attempt to cash in on the revival of rock, and the subsequent
popularity of bands with "The" names (and pre-empting
the presence of the Rolling Stones in Toronto), the poems in this
chapbook are tributes to the rockstar venuses and vixens of music,
film and fairy tales. A pixie makes herself at home in Toronto's
post-Pride nightscape, where she spends hot nights watching The
Blue Angel and The Red Shoes and falling through dreams of vampires
and piano players, waking naked as Lady Godiva. Poems for everyone
who likes the feel of fishnets (on their legs or someone else's).
Each chapbook is individually glitter-glued and comes with a free
safety pin in the hopes of a punk revival.
