In
church, I often heard it said that nothing I could do would ever
make God love me less. This was meant to indicate his boundless
forgiveness, but it only made him seem immobile.
Like
nothing I could do would ever make God love me MORE.
Some
of the ideas in this new collection have appeared in earlier books.
Please forgive me-- they haunt. In Stones & Ghosts, I am trying
to face the unshakeable questions of faith while revisiting the
ruins of my childhood beliefs.
The
collection is divided into two categories ~ Faith and Wishing ~
which, like all attempts at categorization, are flimsy headings.
Because these two ideas have such a strong grasp on my imagination,
Stones & Ghosts is planned as an ongoing series. Over the next
5 months, between August and December 2006, 5 more components will
be published.
