I
am no Lance Armstrong, but I can stay on my bike when I pedal.
At least, I stay on my bike when I pedal and taxis leave me
enough space.
Maybe
that isnŠt fair to say. It isn't just taxis that crowd me
off the road. It's anybody in a car. ItŠs almost as if people
see a cyclist, speed up and move closer to the curb. I canŠt
tell you how many times IŠve been pushed off my bike by some
motorist that either doesnŠt see me or sees me and doesnŠt
care.
Something
to think about when you're driving: cyclists have more than
enough time to write down your license plate number.
I really believe the advertising industry is trying to kill
me. Take a look at this ad. It's supposed to be for a new
perfume and skin care line but look closely at the name. IOD.
And it shows a young naked woman in the fetal position surrounded
by floating blue crap. Everything about this picture makes
me think of death. The fetal position. The nakedness. The
floating blue. I cannot understand why the people behind this
would think it was a good idea. It's obvious to me that nobody
really thought about what the image and name combined would
symbolize, and that's tragic. There are a lot of great ad
campaigns out there, but this is not one of them. I wonder
what those people do for fun.
