Endings De-Constructed
They still love them in Hollywood
even though Hollywood is than I am
and inclined to employ hacks
where the poet would like to troll her line
in romantic waters.
Maybe thats why they end the film
with the kiss and the start of an agreed life.
Maybe because each of us has had a hangover
of too many hoped for ending happily-never-after
the final credits play.
Or too many partners later
Poetry seems a foreign tongue
reserved for Idealists or drunken Irish folk.
Women are reduced by Soaps
to caring more
for the man on the screen
than the one in her arms.
