Reality TV… is such a fraud. To claim that 8 people would choose to live in a house together when one is a bible thumper, one is a hoar, one an ex-soap star, and one an ex-porn star, you get my meaning, there is no way in reality that these people would live together. Their reality is that they are in desperate need of money and attention. All of these discussions clearly have directors input and a direction for the drama has been given. It is too bad the lines are not given as well then at least the quality of the conversations would be entertainment worthy. Of course then it could not be given the classification that is Reality TV. And what is up with the beautiful young models making out with the dirty old man. You cannot tell me she is not getting paid to do that. Well yes when you add the payment that becomes a sort of reality TV … for prostitutes.

Now I don’t understand why people want to watch this crap. The worst of the worst, I believe, is the couples who go to an island paradise to be seduced by attractive singles to "prove their love" for each other. Come on! The reality is if you are in a happy relationship and you find your self in a situation like that and you wanted to "prove your Love" you would leave and go make love to your partner. You wouldn’t stay and torture yourself until you broke down thus ruining the relationship that you worked so hard to build.

I wish people would just turn it off. Stop watching the garbage that someone claims is reality because it really is not. People are interesting and diverse, beautiful and creative, sometime ugly and cruel but that is not the majority of the time (that I have seen anyway). The networks choose to accentuate the vulgar and ignorance in society and I say we need to stop it. The only way to stop it is to lower the ratings. The only way to lower the ratings is to stop watching it. So I put it to all of you PLEASE STOP WATCHING THE CRAP!

Reality TV

The other day
someone asked me to stay in a mansion filled with hot men who all wanted to
marry me.
At the end of the month I picked one and we received a million dollars

Reality TV

The other day
I was flown to Tibet and had to stand in my bare feet while chanting a
mantra with 20 other contestants. I was the last person to go into the hut.
I had to have my feet amputated but I won a million dollars

Reality TV

The other day
my husband and I were flown to an exotic island. We were then offered sex
from models trying to split us apart. We are divorced now. We didn't win a
million dollars.

Reality

The sky is blue today. The sun is shining. The air is fresh after I hike out
of the valley. The blood is pumping through my veins and my breath is long
and full. The lilacs are in bloom and fill the air with their sweet aroma.
Ahhhh Reality

TV holds some people hostage in their homes convincing them it holds
the key to life, the answers to problems or an escape from
Reality.

TV more often than not needs to be turned off
for Reality and TV don't mix.

Ellen Carol
This past year has presented Ellen Carol with a plethora of opportunities. After meeting and impressing the owner of Joey Burke Studios with her demo recording of "Summer wind" he agreed to take her latest project. Returning to Toronto and the studio with fresh views and production ideas "Buttercup Hamsterjuice" was realized July 2004. Inspired by working with a producer who encouraged her creativity, she delved into her diverse influences. When listening to "Carpe Diem" and "Treading Water" you can feel her love of Eric Clapton’s guitar lick’s and Janis Joplin’s passionate vocals. "Dirty Girl" and "The Danger in Fishing" complimented with the steel guitar and harmonica transport the listener to a warm country evening inspired by the styling of Sheryl Crow. Following Crow's lead of artistic freedom "I’m Leaving" takes the listener on a rhythmic lullaby. Ellen’s time spent in Central America has influenced the production of "Catnip" and "5 Senses". Ellen’s recent interest in jazz and R&B help to create "Kissing on Bridges". All of this somehow fits together with the string that is her lyrics. Ellen Carol has had a passion for lyrics since she was a small child. Singing in the garden or writing poetry in the fields was her favorite pastime. Born in Grande Prairie, Alberta and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, she was naturally drawn to folk music. In her youth, Ellen dabbled in many instruments including accordion, clarinet, percussion, and piano before finding the instrument to best complement her style, the guitar.

Ellen Carol is currently performing in Toronto and the surrounding area while booking her west coast tour to promote "Buttercup Hamsterjuice"
