Does Size Really Matter
I should clear this up right now. I'm not talking about penis size, I'm talking about something important. I'm talking about supermodels and why I think they should all be rounded up and shot. Repeatedly. Before one of you idiots freak out and misunderstand what I'm saying, let me spell it out real clear for you. I would never encourage the killing of another human being. A supermodel however, is not a human being. They represent what the media tells us we should look like. And not just women, oh no. Men aren't getting any reprieve from the imagery of society either. This normally is where some sort of statistic would be inserted but fuck it. I canÙt find my numbers so I'll just rant about it. As a woman, when I see ad campaigns featuring ultra thin bony women it frightens me. I feel as though I now have some new standard to try and meet. Which of course is absurd. Nobody can look like that. You could spend your whole day in various salons getting your hair and nails and stuff done but in the end it doesnÙt change who you are. One of the worst drawbacks to having perfect models is that young girls tend to think that that is how they should look. They begin to starve themselves in an effort to stave off rounded curves. Britney Spears is the absolute worst role model I can think of. She influences young girls into thinking that if they don't look like her, they might as well give up. Let's see how pretty that one is in ten years, after the industry has passed her around a few times. There is no getting around the media and the influence it wields. What we can do though is remind ourselves that the beautiful people seem to have it all but they really donÙt. Here is my lone statistic, people. Get ready for it. Over 85% of women who were rated very good-looking hate the way they look. How fucked is that? So, no matter what you look like you're still going to hate yourself for being either too beautiful or not beautiful enough. Cut your losses right now and learn to accept yourself with all your flaws. You are not a dress size, you are a person. Refuse to be defined by what the fashion industry dictates to be beautiful. What do they know anyhow? TheyÙre the same people who made tracksuits out of velour. Remember that. Life is not a Gap ad, nor is it a music video. Unless youÙre over thirty and still live in your mother's basement. Because you, sad pathetic creature, have nothing but your fantasies and I am not that cruel as to take it away from you. Yet.

What you said!!!
You completely hit it on the nail. I am sick of having to live up to what a magazine say I should look like.
