We All Want the Same Thing
A Free Country and Peace
Debora Myers/Ladyfire.com
Ive been told by people who are my classmates, peers,
employers, friends, readership and strangers that I take sides
with Saddam and am a traitor to America because
I am against the preemptive invasion of Iraq. Lets get
one thing straight. I do not support Saddam. I have had obscenities
screamingly hurled at me, (one teacher even grabbed me, in
a rage brought on my mentioning peace vigil.)
One of my classmates, this chubby, always smiling, sweet-looking
guy said I hope the terrorists drop a bomb on your house
first! Wow! That coming from a fellow American! I wish
him no harm. I wish no harm to anyone wherever they are from.
I do support diplomatic measures to take Saddam out of power.
I will also work on measures to ensure that GWB is not our
next president by campaigning against him. I have a constitutionally
given right to do so.
How can people be so blind and so easily brainwashed into
thinking that invading a country and occupying it is right?
How can people believe that killing and maiming innocent people
is ok? They think it is ok for us to kill the Iraqi people,
but not ok for Sadamm to do so? Is there logic in that? Not
much thinking going on here with our fat and spoiled people,
although, a third of us know what the US government wants
from Iraq. They want to push their crusade. Bush even slipped
and said crusade in a speech to "the American
People." This war is about power, domination and greed.
The majority of the American people do not read, so they get
their news from the total propagandized TV news. They are
not seeing the realities of the war. No bloody babies on American
TV. That wouldnt make us look good, now would it?

I do not support Saddam or any of the multitudes of demented
dictators in this world. I am a PEACE activist. That means
I work to educate, dispel fear-based reactions; the knee jerk
effect of eye for an eye. I believe in dialogue and diplomacy.
I simply wish to speak and work for peace. Is that not what
we all want? I think we just differ in the way peace should
be attained.
I only wish to exercise my constitutionally given rights of
freedom of speech. We best exercise these rights while we
still can, because the powers that be are working hard to
chip away at our rights with the Patriot Act and the Patriot
Act II. Check them out. If someone suspected me of terrorist
connections, (Which I do not have by the way) I could be locked
up, without access to a lawyer, without hope or my constitutionally
given right to a lawyer. That is what is happening with many
Islamic Americans or Arab visitors or sympathizers
in question. No Lawyers? No way to defend yourself? What happened
to innocent until proven guilty? Is this right? With the empty
headed "Texacutioner" as president, we are experiencing,
on a grand scale, the darkest times since the genocide of
The American Indians. Iran and Syria are next on the list
to be attacked and dominated.
I am not the only one on this planet who does not support
this war. 80 percent of the rest of the peoples on this planet
that have an opinion on this war on Iraq are against it. I
have educated myself on the people behind the scenes in our
government. Educate yourselves about: Paul Wolfowitz, Richard
Perle, Robert Kagan, Donald Rumsfeld, Richard Cheney, Lewis
Scooter Libby, Douglas Feith, John Bolton, Elliot
Abrahams, James Woolsey. Also do a little checking into the
Rev. Sun Myung Moon who owns the Washington Times. These people
will tell you what the war is all about. These are the scary,
far right neo-conservatives that are controlling the government
of the US. Dont take my word for it. Get out there and
do your own research.

Most of us want Peace and freedom, to be allowed to live our
lives as we deem. Bombing our way to peace is unjustified
and makes no sense. Bombing civilians into freedom is not
moral or right. It is simply an act of aggression pushed by
those men behind our government, manipulating our air-headed
president and our people into doing their dirty deeds for
their own sick purposes of World Domination.
Do your homework.
May Peace, Love and Light Prevail!
