Hot and Cold

I’ve been questioned recently by one of my customers, "Why are you so hot and cold?" Being a sensitive person I wanted to asked, "What is that supposed to mean?" I’m not one to hide how I feel. This is very true. So, all I could say to him is, "Because I am."

Working in the bar business, it’s hard not to go from being happy happy joy joy to angry angry pissed pissed. It’s like getting a $30 tip to a measly few cents or better yet, from a "Thank you. You give such great service" to "I’m not paying this bill because I didn’t drink this much." So, you can see. It’s hard to be just one solid mood all the time.

Not to mention, after everyone leaves and is nice and drunk. I have to clean up after all of them. The puke. The beer stains. The ashtrays. Vacuum, sweep and mop. At least at this point, I’m in such a daze that the time flies by.
