Soak
out the Stress
OH
NO! Youre a half an hour late for work. The sink is
full of dishes. Your favorite shirt is missing and you cant
find one to wear because everything else is dirty. Does
this sound familiar? Women have lots of stress to balance.
And as you gather the experience you may be fortunate enough
to figure out how to organize your life without giving it
all up. One way to help you decrease tension and stress
is to take the time to sort it all out.
The
one thing that I have learned in my life that I like to
tell others is that,
"Its
so much more fun to laugh, than cry. Id rather be
singing, than shouting. And, if that doesnt help,
than take a bath and soak out that stress."
Heres
a list of problems solving steps that could possibly help
you out:
Step
1- Forget about it.
Whether
you had to take a bus, a car or even your own two legs to
get home from school/work, once you step inside your home
take a deep breath and try to forget everything that happened
that day. All the books, notepads, computers, line-ups and
rushing are now behind you. Place your baggage where ever
you like, throw it if it makes you feel better, just put
in down.
Step
2- Tidy up the mess.
The
morning was a rush, there are dishes scattered around the
kitchen, peanut butter jars left open and milk jugs left
out. Not to mention, your bedroom looks like a hurricane
went through it. It takes just a little bit of time to get
rid of all the mess. Start with the bedroom, hang-up and
put away the clothes you were planning on wearing that day
but decided it either looked to baggy or too tight. Make
your bed, so you can climb into it comfortably at night.
Then clean the kitchen. Finishing the dishes and sweeping
the floor last will help from getting any unnecessary dirt
on any of your shirts and bed sheets.
Step
3- Organize study notes and homework.
You
had a full day of lectures and note taking. Its probably
best to leave homework out of the way for awhile. However,
you have projects due and tests are still rambling through
your thoughts. Instead of getting right to work, organize
your notes by writing a to do list. You may
find it easy to number what has to be done from most important
to least important. Then, place them aside for later on,
when your mind is more rested and clear.
Step
4- Take a warm bath.

After
you have set the water temperature to a soothing degree,
pick out your favorite shampoos, soaps and suds, while the
water is running. Adding bubbles to your bath puts the body
more at ease. Go into the bedroom, put on some easy listening
and turn the volume up load enough to hear the music in
the bathroom. Stepping into the tub may be shocking at first
but as soon as youre settled into soak; the tension
and pressure goes away allowing the mind to clear from all
the days troubles.
Step
5- Get Comfy in Pajamas.
There
is no better feeling than slipping out of the tub and into
a soft pair of pajamas. When all dried off, before getting
into your night wear, rub yourself down with some scented
lotions, like vanilla or lavender. This will keep the soft
feeling from the tub stay soaked in your skin. To get that
same feeling on the inside, make yourself a cup of tea,
hot chocolate or flavoured coffee. Feeling better yet? Now
that youre relaxed and regenerated, you will have
a clear mind.
After
all this, you still can find the time to call a friend you
havent spoken to in awhile or catch up with your parents
Try anything that will keep the negativity from brushing
in. Also, weekday mornings can be hectic. Its best
to figure out what youre going to wear the night before
to save you from the rushing. Also, you may find packing
a lunch before sunrise comes in handy. By this time, you
will be ready for bed and prepared for another chaotic day
of life.
