Issues with Water

So, the average person is supposed to drink eight glasses of water per day, right? That’s all nice and fine, unless, of course, you’re me. I try to be healthy, eat right, exercise, and drink plenty of water. I can do the first three items on the list just fine. With water, however, I have some issues.
First of all, I don’t think that I EVER drank eight glasses of water per day, not even after the hardest workouts. That just seems almost impossible to me. Maybe I can drink 4-5 glasses at the most, but that’s about it.
“Drink that water. It’ll clean you kidneys,” hubby often preaches. Well, it seems to be easy for him to say. He manages to guzzle his eight glasses of liquid daily, and I just don’t see how he does it. Maybe it’s a guy thing. Maybe they have bigger stomachs, or something.
I did a little private investigation with my friends and found out that I’m not the only one with water issues. All of my girlfriends drink less then me, or about the same as me. The reason? Like me, they just can’t hold it and they’re tired of going to the bathroom every 30 minutes. Which, by the way, is the biggest gripe I have with water drinking. I have better things to do than be constantly interrupted by going to the bathroom all the time. Up yours!
This bathroom thing doesn’t seem to affect guys all that much, it seems. It’s almost like they can drink all day, only to go to the bathroom once in a while. Not fair! Sometimes it really sucks to be a woman, I tell you. And I seriously doubt that any gal gets the required eight glasses of water per day, unless she lives in the Sahara. Also, I kinda doubt that most of the docs who preach this idea actually follow it themselves.
I once had a biology teacher in community college, who used to freely admit that he doesn’t get the required water dosage either. As a matter of fact, he used to say that he just drinks all he wants and doesn’t care about following the standard given by the docs.
So, those of you who feel that you should drink more liquids, and feel guilty because you can’t manage it, don’t despair. You’re not alone. Instead, be happy that you can at least join the ever-growing chain of less-than-eight-glasses-per-day liquid drinkers.
