This weeks Bytch Shrine Nellie McClung At the beginning of the twentieth century, women's suffrage was not a popular cause in Canada. Men and women were frightened that women's rights would lead to the breakdown of home and family.

This weeks Bytch Shrine Zelda Fitzgerald would be 106 on July 24th had she continued to live on. She would have continued to dance, paint and write as she should have. That didn’t happen of course, instead Zelda died at the age of 48 heartbroken and alone as the man who promised to be hers for all eternity had died eight years earlier and in the arms of another woman. Bytch Shrine Marian Keyes Her writing is so incredibly addictive, I would love to have a Sunshine of the Spotless Mind procedure so that I could read all of her books and experience them again for the first time.  Anna and I went to see her last week when she was in town promoting her latest book, "Anybody Out There?" at Nicholas Hoare.

While Tom bounced on couches and proved himself to be the King of Morons by getting into idiotic arguments with Brooke Shields, Nicole Kidman showed the world that she was no longer part of the circus by keeping a low profile and leading a somewhat normal life.

This weeks Bytch Shrine Sue Grafton is an American writer and the creator of the alphabet detective series starring Kinsey Millhone - female private investigator. Kinsey is cool, but Sue is even cooler because she created Kinsey. I find it akin to God creating Eve - the female embodiment of perfection.
