The Bytches

Carolina 'Lina' Smart

Creator and Editor-In-Chief

Originally from Wiarton, Ontario, Canada and needing to escape the shadow of Wiarton Willie, Carolina has lived the last 20 years in Toronto, Canada. Carolina is also the creator of Shebytches.com. Always biting off more than she can chew she is in the middle of writing her first novel, a screenplay and book of short stories. But if that wasn’t enough, she runs Shebytches and Lipstik Indie Reviews . She never sleeps!

Sarrah October Young
Creator and Co-Editor

Having been born with a pen in her hand, Sarrah has always loved writing stories and being creative. She credits her strong artistic roots to her family, as they have always encouraged her to write. Because of them, she has continued to shape and mold words into stories, comics, ads and just plain nuisances. Her greatest love is her vast comic book collection, which her husband swears has a mind of its own and multiplies when no one is looking. She resides in Toronto with her husband and their giant dog Mango, who also loves comic books. Just not in the same way Sarrah does.

Amber Fette is a Toronto native. Though no formal training in writing, it is her way of freeing thoughts into the world and letting them take off on their own adventures. During her week day hours, Amber works as a Recreation Therapist motivating others to participate in meaningful activities. She is driven by her own passions for photography and writing, as the mark she will leave upon the world. She can be found roaming the city camera in one hand, journal and pen in the other and you can be sure there is a book in her third hand. Amber has yet to find out what a full night's rest entails, but she probably wouldn't like it as to her it would feel like time wasted.

Dawn Farrell

Raised on the banks the Bonnechere River of the Ottawa Valley, the story of Dawn Farrell is a typical one, a small town girl moves to the big city. Being raised by Torontian parents and three older brothers, the inspiring journalist was destined to move out to Toronto and discover the world, where she later discovers herself. Her most recognized piece was published in Glow Magazine. Heidi Stelzner

I'm Heidi ... single mom of three living somwhere in Ontario... I've been writing what goes on in my head since I was able to put pen to page and make it , make sense... Its my outlet, my freedom and the only way I know how to get what is in my head out into the world...
Im fearless, stubborn, reflective, innocent, naive, wishful , tortured and more. My pen and paper are never far from hand because inpiration is everywhere and there is always something to bytch about...

Jessica Seesink

I'm a high school student from Pickering Ontario, who enjoys reading, drawing, video games, horror movies, anime, and screaming during Hockey Games or Wrestling events (not only at a live event but at the tv too). I plan to go into work with computers such as graphic design or animation (2D or 3D) either that or i'd like to write or design fashion.

Lina Kim decided to pursue writing when she realized she felt more joy putting words to paper than potentially having a torrid love affair with Brad Pitt. The musings of a silly girl: who used to have an afro (twice); who talks just a tad too much; who sounds like Axel Rose at karaoke; who's a little zany; and most importantly, who's looking for the +'s in a world full of -'s. See her blog - http://linatalkstoomuch.blogspot.com for more craziness.

Natalie Gray

"Natalie is an extraordinary artist/comediennewho will be writing a column called Hollywood Unplugged
based upon her surreal experiences in Los Angeles"

Born in Birmingham, England to a rock 'n' roll family, Natalie literally grew up in entertainment. Her father rehearsed with Ozzy Osbourne, opened for Tom Jones, the Who, The Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Queen and the Electric Light Orchestra.

The first 3 years of Natalie's life were spent on the road being babysat by strippers.
The competition for Mommy's affection was pretty intense between a small child and a limelight hungry father but Natalie soon learned that being funny could get Mom's attention quicker than a snazzy guitar riff.

Natalie is also an accomplished actress, artist and shoe designer (most recently head designer for Playboy Shoes). Natalie has recently left the world of shoe design behind along with her extensive travels to Europe and China in order to return to her passion of writing and performing stand up comedy.

Pixie a.k.a. Sophie

Pixie has a Ph.D. (doctor of pixieology) from the University of Tobleronto, which means she can officially kill people with her brain. She always carries a Taranee notebook full of plans, wishes, doodles, & grocery lists. Some of these doodles grew up to become the poems in her chapbooks _These Are the Licks_ (the one with the glitterglue cover) and _junkmaildays_ (published by the funky people at above/ground). Others rebel and become her Shebytches column, while some dream they are her blogtastic musings on books, reading & memories in deliriumslibrary. Her wings went on tour with Girls Who Bite Back to teach grrl power self defense Slayer-style. In her more serious moments (usually between 9 pm and 2 am), she uses her Google skills to research a forthcoming
book on director Sally Potter.

"Sandra Polifroni works for The Man and spends most of her days wondering how
she can go from being 'Queen of Unimportant Decisions' to 'Queen of
the World'. In her free time, she bitches and whines to whomever is
within earshot."

Sandy Love

Sandy Love is a novice in the writing world, but has always used the pen and paper as a personal outlet. Recently divorced, she is now in the process of moving to Georgia, where the sun shines brightly on her new life.

Sarrah October Young
As a columnist in the entertainment magazine Exclaim!, Sarrah is kept very busy exploring the effect comics and their siblings have on society. Having self published a comic, ‘Mother May I’, to great accolades, she is seriously contemplating continuing the series beyond the first issue and eventually one day maybe finishing it. True genius takes time. In addition to her contemplation, she is also finishing her first novel, which may one day see the light of day. When she isn’t creating worlds and then destroying them, she’s sitting at home with her cat watching reruns of the ‘Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show’ and attempting to build a website. Out of twigs.
